Forest Fun

Yesterday, we spent a chilly afternoon in the forest. We loved exploring the feel of the ice where water had frozen overnight and used some fabulous vocabulary to describe it using most of our senses. We created music in the music zone and squelched through muddy puddles!

We also collected sticks to make into Prospero’s magic staff, as we have been learning about Shakespeare’s story, The Tempest. We have imagined how the mariners felt on board the ship as Prospero created the huge storm to teach them a lesson for banishing him and his daughter to the island. We used drama to act out the roles that needed to be done on the ship and then watched videos of storms at sea, working hard to sort the different emotions and feelings that the men on board would have been feeling.

We are looking forward to finding out more about the story. Watch this space!
