Amazing art afternoon in Mozart!

We have had a lovely week in Mozart this week, but this afternoon was especially exciting! We had a very special visitor come to the school – an artist in residence from the local university. The children were extremely excited to look at some of her artwork and were able to ask her lots of questions about the mediums and techniques that she uses.

Then, the children were given some time to experiment with crayons, colouring pencils, charcoal, oil pastels and graphite to create their own interpretations of the painting we are looking at for our Take One Picture unit – ‘A Shipwreck in Stormy Seas’ by Claude-Joseph Vernet. It was great to see the children being so hands-on and creative!

I am really looking forward to seeing what they produce in their art lessons over the next 6 weeks.

Have a lovely weekend!

Miss Robson
