Year 5 R.E Humanism

This term Year 5 have been busy learning about Humanism. As part of this unit of learning the children have been exploring what Humanists believe in. We have been exploring the meaning of key vocabulary such as theists, agnostics, and atheists. The children have been considering which values are important to Humanists and how Humanists live their lives. We have explored how Humanists look towards science to explain the natural world around them and why the need for evidence is vital when confirming these ideas. The children have been comparing how Humanists beliefs such as ‘we should treat others how we would want to be treated ourselves’ links to other faiths.

Well done Dyson class, we have had some very valuable discussions.
