Portraits – Art Appreciation

In art this afternoon, Year 6 explored:

Why do artists paint portraits?
What meaning can we find in portraits?
How can art be a reflection of one’s self?

We researched a range of artists and their work, collating thoughts and feelings as well as discussing how portraits can portray emotion, personality and symbolise experiences. The children created a fabulous double-spread page which expressed their opinions and thoughts based on what they learnt.
