Wonderful Wiggins Class
What an amazing start we have made to the new school year!
It has been fabulous to get back to school and start lots more new learning, catch up with old friends and making new ones. We could have done with it being a few degrees cooler, but nevertheless, the children have made a very positive start to the new school year and I am so proud of them all, and excited to see just where our class journey will take us!
We have started to work on our new Talk for Writing text this week. It is based on the story of The Gruffalo’s Child and we have worked collaboratively to make a big picture of the main character. We have been sequencing the story, making woodland scenes and describing the characters too. We also had a wonderful afternoon at Forest School on Wednesday. There was plenty of exploring and problem solving in the welcome shade of the trees.
Our sensory room has also been well used this week. Our new children, especially, have been very interested in the resources we have used and we have worked hard to communicate about what we can see, hear and feel, supported by visuals and communication boards.
PE was fabulous today! We crawled, climbed, jumped, ran, slid and turned in and around lots of the apparatus.
I just know that this school year is going to be totally amazing!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and I look forward to welcoming you back on Monday.
